Lon passed away on December 14, 2015 with his family by his side. He was a Vietnam Veteran, a Purple Heart recipient and a former Philadelphia Corrections Officer. He is the husband of the late Christine (nee Zalewski). Loving father of Michelle Gilbert (Michael), Lori Gillespie (Donald), and Kenneth (Renee). Poppy to Heather, Stefany, Amber, Michael Jr., Colin, Christopher, Kenneth Jr. and Gianna. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Jacob and Adrianna. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday 9-10:45 AM at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114 followed by his Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment Magnolia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
