Dr. Anthony L., January 18, 2018.  An oral maxillofacial surgeon and businessman, Anthony was born and raised in the Tacony section of Philadelphia and a resident of the Torresdale section since 1959.  He was a graduate of Frankford H.S., LaSalle College, Temple Dental School, University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Medicine and served his residency at The Pennsylvania Hospital.  Past President of Frankford Hospital and AAOMS, long time teacher at Temple Dental School Anesthesia and Oral Surgery Clinics.  He initiated mandatory CPR training for all licensed dentists in PA.  He was a Captain in the U.S. Army.   Beloved husband of the late Jennie (nee Cardillo), he is the loving father of Dr. Lennie M. Checchio (the late Dr. James O'Larnic), Dr. Joseph A. Checchio, Lucie J. McDonald Masters, Esquire (Stephen A. Masters), Dr. Mary Anne Checchio (Dr. Anthony DeMarco) and Ms. Toni Checchio.  Dear grandpop of Dr. Jennifer Koumaras (Dr. Doran Dobranszki), Dr. Michael Koumaras (Sophia Koumaras), Dena O'Larnic, Anastasia Checchio, Anthony John Checchio, Joseph Checchio, Jr., Samantha Foster (Eric Foster),   Giavanna DeMarco, AJ DeMarco, Francesca DeMarco, Lucy Checchio and Jennifer Murphy (CJ Murphy); great grandfather to Stella, Max, Adrianna, Ava, Victor, and Evelyn.  Brother of the late I. Harry Checchio (the late Camilla) and the late Michael Checchio (Jane).  Anthony's greatest joy in life was his family and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday Evening 6 to 9 PM Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA, and also his Funeral Mass Wednesday 10 AM St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia.  Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
