Arthur "Joe" J. Yost

Arthur “Joe” Yost passed away on September 15, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Kathryn (nee Layton). Loving dad to Kathy Livewell (Bob), Bobby Reilly (Kathy), Karen Colfer (Marty), and Missy Lawlor (Pete). Cherished Pop to Michelle, Lauren, Melissa, and Madison, and proud Great-Pop to Kamryn, Alex, Madelynn, and Abigail.

Joe proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he continued a life of service as a Philadelphia Police Officer, dedicating many years to the department and the city he called home.

Joe treasured time spent with his family, especially their trips down to Cape May, where many wonderful memories were made over the years. He also had a great appreciation for music and enjoyed listening to all genres. Above all else, Joe loved being surrounded by his family and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 701 Gaul St., Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by his Funeral Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Tunnel 2 Towers, Toys for Tots or the Wounded Warrior Project.
