"Dr. D" practiced as a family physician in Torresdale for over 40 years. He was born in Pittsburgh, proud alumnus of Central High School, University of Pittsburgh, and Hahnemann Medical School.  He met the love of his life, Terry, in the Heart Clinic at Stetson Hospital and he proposed to her on Valentine's Day. He was a Lieutenant in the Navy where he served as Head Medical Officer for the U.S.S. Bushnell in Key West, FL during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  He enjoyed caring for over 3 generations of families in Northeast Philadelphia. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Theresa (nee Kita). Loving  father of Janine Ehsani (Mehdi), John, Katherine Autieri (Michael), Christopher (Peter Occolowitz) and Mark (Marci). Dzia Dzia (Grandpa) of Elizabeth, Helen, Matthew, Stephen, Lily, Alexander, and Zachary. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Monday Eve 6-9 PM and Tuesday 8:30-9:15 AM at BURNS FUNERAL HOME 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114, followed by his Funeral Mass 10 AM at St. Katherine of Siena Church.
