Bernard C. Haney passed away on August 20, 2025 at the age of 65. Bernie was the loving son of the late Kathleen Haney (nee Crowther), but tragically, lost his mother at a very early age when he was wholeheartedly raised, as if their own child, by the late Helen and William O'Donnell.

Bernie was a big brother of and will be deeply missed by his siblings: Kathleen Krajicek (nee Haney), William O'Donnell (the late Anna), John O'Donnell, and the late Margaret McGinnis (Jack). Bernie is also survived by his loving nephews and nieces, many relatives, extended family and countless lifelong friends.

Bernie was very proud of his upbringing and being "Just a Kid From Fishtown" and of his education at Holy Name of Jesus Grade School and Northeast Catholic High School for Boys, where he was a 1978 graduate.  After which, he dedicated over 30 years of service as a Tax Assessor for the State of New Jersey.

Anyone who knew Bernie, knew with the many adversities throughout his life, he always and consistently remained positive and upbeat.  He knew someone wherever you went with him and always saw a positive in a negative situation.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Burns Funeral Home (1428 E. Columbia Ave., Philadelphia PA 19125) from 10:00AM-11:30AM, followed by his Funeral Service. Interment New Cathedral Cemetery.
