Catherine A. Simon (nee Furey), 91, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2025. She was the beloved widow of Raymond Simon, who preceded her in death after many years of marriage.

Born on March 10, 1933, in Philadelphia, Catherine was the eldest child of Charles and Anna Furey. She was predeceased by her siblings Elizabeth Mohnacs (John), Joseph Furey (Kathleen), and is survived by her brothers Charles (Ann) and James.

Catherine graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School and went on to work for the federal government for several years before marrying Raymond Simon. As a devoted housewife, she lovingly raised three children: Patricia, Annamarie, and Raymond. Later in life, she returned to the workforce at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, where she earned numerous awards for her dedication and hard work.

In addition to her children, Catherine is survived by her grandchildren, Annamarie, Andrea, Richard, Justin, and Julian. She also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Catherine's legacy of love, dedication, and service will forever be remembered by her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Services will be held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
