Catherine D'Orrico (Penza) passed away June 5, 2023, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Attilio D'Orrico. Devoted mother of Mary Litz (William), Louis D'Orrico, and Cathy Studdard (Brad). Loving Grandmom of Christopher, Dean, David, and Lexi. Dear sister of Virginia "Ginny" Bertino and the late Marion Coia; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Penza, Catherine was born in Hammonton, NJ and a resident of the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia, PA. In her younger years Catherine was a dental hygienist and then employed by the Federal Government (Aviation Supply Office). Dedicated to her family, she loved going out to dinner and holiday events. She was adored by many family members and friends near and far that will miss her dearly. Known for wearing her beautiful hats, she also enjoyed extended visits with her sister in Hammonton and with her daughter in Las Vegas. Catherine and her late husband Attilio were avid bus travelers who visited many of the National Parks and states in their retirement years.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather Friday, June 9, 2023, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Burns Funeral Home, 1514 Woodbourne Road, Levittown, PA. A viewing will also be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, St. Dominic Church, 8504 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at St. Dominic Cemetery. Contributions can be made in Catherine's memory to Fox Chase Cancer Center or a charity of your choice.
