Catherine E. Smith (nee Kelly) passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished wife of the late Michael J. Smith and a devoted mother to her children: Michael, Catherine Redner, Patrick (Princessa), Veronica Smith, Robert, Joseph, Kelly Smith (Christopher), and John Simpson. She was also the beloved mother of the late Richard and David, and mother-in-law of Minerva.

Catherine was a nurturing matriarch, not only to her children but also to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

Relatives, friends, and residents of Neumann North Center are invited to celebrate her life during a viewing on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Burns Funeral Home, 1428 E. Columbia Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19125, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:15 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Catherine's memory to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 3000 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111. Your kindness and support will be greatly appreciated.
