IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Chalie
Clegg
November 16, 1960 – November 19, 2025
Chalie "Chal" Clegg, age 65, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on November 19, 2025. Born on November 16, 1960, in Philadelphia, he spent his life in the city and community he loved.
Chalie was a proud and dedicated member of Teamsters Local 107, where he worked for 26 years at Yellow Freight — freezing his balls off on a forklift, as he would have said himself. He was known for his work ethic, tough exterior, warm heart, and unmistakable presence.
A true fan of classic rock, Chalie filled his life with the music of Elton John, The Eagles, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, the Doobie Brothers, and Shania Twain (lol). He was a lifelong Las Vegas Raiders loyalist (with the Eagles coming in a close second) and a passionate Tom Brady hater to the end.
Chalie played softball for years as a powerful left fielder, knocking balls out of the park at Deni Playground, playing for the Warriors, and at Field 8 at Thornton & Comly. He loved animals — especially cats — had a soft spot for Cadillacs and was always the last one off the dance floor once he warmed up.
Chalie is survived by his beloved children: Stephanie Powley (Clegg), Charles "Randy" Clegg (Brittany), and Jerry Cook; his grandchildren Billy Powley, Rosalie, Lily, and Charlie Clegg, and Maddie Cook; his siblings Kathy, and Bob Clegg (Nancy); his nieces and nephews Valerie Torris, Bobby Clegg, and Kene Clegg; his goddaughters Vicki Wendt and Samantha Fiske and more friends and "brothers" than we could mention (you know who you are).
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Alberta Clegg (Anger), his dear niece Cecilia, and his brother William Clegg.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday, November 28, 2025, 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, followed by Words of Remembrance 12:00 PM.
