Charles W. Bailer, Sr.

Charles W. Bailer, Sr., age 84, affectionately known as "Chalie" passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Maryanne Bailer.

Chalie was predeceased by his daughter, Debra Bailer. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Charles W. Bailer, Jr., Susan Unger (Gregory), Donna D’Ambrosio (Christopher), Daniel Bailer (Cindy), and Michael Bailer. Devoted “Pop” to Matthew, Heather, Ashley, Lauren, Joseph, William, Daniel, and Jack. He was also the dear brother of the late Margaret Mahadas and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Chalie proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army and was a dedicated member of the Hajdak-Mokan Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Association. Following his military service, he dedicated over 30 years of his career to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

In his free time, Chalie enjoyed relaxing with a good cigar and brandy, spending time at the racetrack watching the horses, and playing cards with family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114, beginning at 9:00 AM. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
