Charles proudly served his country during the Korean War with United States Air Force after which he worked for the Philadelphia Mint, retiring after 35 years of service. Beloved husband of the late Gerryetta E. (nee Brown), devoted father of Charles D. Jr., Jeffrey (Patricia), Mark (Patricia) and Gerald (Vida), loving grandfather of Crystal, April, Markie, Eva, Whitney, Tamara, Devianna and Faith. Great grandfather of Robert, Christopher, Anthony and Sammy. Dear brother of Robert J. (Margaret), Madelyn Rich and the late David C.; also survived by his sister-in-law Trudy.
