Charles F. Giel, Jr. passed away suddenly on July 20, 2026.

He was the beloved son of the late Charles F. Giel, Sr. and Frances A. Edwards Giel (née Boyle). Loving brother of Judith A. Ellmer (Steven), Linda M. Day (David), and Daniel R. Giel (Anna), dear uncle of Robert S. Ellmer, Jamie L. Ellmer, James C. Day, and Jennifer L. Day.

Chal loved to laugh and make others smile by sharing a joke, posting memes on social media, offering a kind gesture, or simply taking the time to listen. He wanted to make everyone feel cared for as he always had a heart of gold. Chal was also someone who would always have your back. He was very protective of his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, followed by his funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held privately.
