It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a great man on April 18, 2011.



Born on July 17, 1932 and grew up in Saint Stephen's Parish, attended North Catholic High School and LaSalle College. He worked at the Budd Company as a Cost Analyst for 47 years where he retired in 1997. After retiring he loved being alone with his wife of more than 55 years. He was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan and especially loved the Phillies and Eagles. A devoted family man who enjoyed many activities with his family especially waiting for his grandchildren to come home from school each day, Sunday dinners and having all of his family around him. Other favorite activities included playing the slots in Atlantic City and relaxing down the shore in North Wildwood.



His memory is survived by his wife Christina Doris (nee) Dawson of 55 years, devoted father of Charles Jr. (Sandy), John (Joanne), Gerard (known as Jerry), Eugene (Julie), Christina (Lisa Rarrick-Haines), Thomas (Paul McGrath), Maryann (Jayson Burgos), and Joseph, 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and also survived by 2 sisters, Nancy (Anderson) and Rosemary (Meehan), 2 brothers deceased and many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held at St. Matthews Parish (upper Church) on Monday April 25th from 9 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 A.M. and interment at Holy Sepluchre. Mass cards will be appreciated and in lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Saint Matthews Parish, 3000 Cottman Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19149.
