Christian M. Hensler, Sr.

Christian M. Hensler, Sr. passed away peacefully June 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was the beloved son of the late Herman and Elizabeth Hensler and the devoted husband of 47 years to Karen Hensler (née Ford). Loving father of Amanda Hollman (Randy), Lauren Hensler, and Christian M. Hensler, Jr. (Franklin Wise). Cherished Pop Pop of Nexida Sanchez, Julieanna Sanchez, and Javon Hollman. Dear brother of Lisa Hensler and the late Richard Hensler and Michael Christian Hensler. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Christian was a 1975 graduate of Mercy Career and Technical School, where he studied carpentry. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later dedicated many years of service to Philadelphia Gas Works as an Instrumentation Specialist until his retirement. Throughout his career, Chris wore many hats, including serving as a union representative, always advocating for and supporting those around him.

Known for his generosity, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need, Chris truly lived by the principles of the Beatitudes. His compassion, strength, and selflessness touched countless lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at St. Dominic Church, 8504 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136, beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Military honors will immediately follow the Mass. Interment will be held privately.
