With deepest regrets we announce that Cynthia M. Patton, age 85, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026 following a sudden illness. Preceding Cynthia in death are her parents, Adolph & Sophie Stankiewicz, former spouses Charles McCloud & Robert Patton, and her best friend and sister Andrea Stankiewicz. Remaining to cherish Cynthia’s memory are her four children Charles (Kim) McCloud, Kim (Greg) Barlow, Kelly (Dave) Read, and Robyn Guenther; her seven grandchildren Chaz, Melissa, Chelsea, Gregory, Nickolas, Tori, and Jaxson; and her five great grandchildren Mackenzi, Willow, Colson, Wesley and Gregory. She had a lasting impact on each one of our lives and will be greatly missed by all.
Cynthia came into the world on August 20, 1941. She was raised in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia, PA. She graduated High School from Nazareth Academy and later worked in accounts payable for 35 years at Frankford Hospital where she retired at age 65. The matriarch of her family, Cynthia’s resilience was the compass that helped to guide her children through life. She was a single mother who did it “her way” to persevere through life’s obstacles. Never lacking in her sense of humor, she had a funny nickname for pretty much any person she encountered.
Cynthia enjoyed family time, for many years she took joy in hosting holiday dinners where everyone would sit around and talk for hours about anything and everything. On special occasions she loved to enjoy a good peach bellini or mudslide. On a normal day, peach snapple was her favorite. After her children were grown, her beloved dog Tiffany kept her company. Throughout her life she really enjoyed reading, needle point, ceramics, collecting figurines and spending time on her iPad.
Cynthia loved to stay up to date on the happenings of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives. Never wanting to settle for mediocrity, she was always there to offer advice to family to try to help them along their way. She took interest in the social topics of pop culture and loved to chat about them. Her do not disturb sign was always on during the 3-4pm hour to watch her favorite soap opera, General Hospital. She had a love for listening to music and the home stereo was always playing throughout the day. We are so grateful to have all of these memories and so many more to cherish forever.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet Cynthia's family on Monday, September 21, 2026 at St. Martha Church, 11301 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154, from 9:00-9:45 A.M. A Catholic Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
