Daniel J. Murphy, Sr., age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 18, 2024. Beloved husband to Clare (nee Matthews), he was a devoted and loving father to Daniel, Jr. (Maura) and Patricia Whelan (Thomas). He was a cherished grandfather to Sloane, Charlotte, Daniel III, Catherine, and Claire. Dan is also survived by his dear sister, Clare Nobleman.

Dan was a proud member of Local 690 Plumbers for over 50 years, where he earned the respect and admiration of many. He was also an active and dedicated member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 87, based in Port Richmond. Throughout his life, Dan's greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, whom he loved deeply.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Dan's life at a viewing on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church, 9322 Old Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19115. A Funeral Mass will follow, with interment private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Dan's memory.

Dan will be forever remembered for his kindness, generosity, and love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
