Darlene "Dee" Starkey

Darlene “Dee” Starkey (née Vale) passed away on May 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 71. Cherished daughter of the late Betty Jean and Merton Vale. Beloved wife of Joseph. Loving mom of Elizabeth (Jim), Donna Starkey, Christine Murphy, and Jennifer Starkey. Adored Grandmom of Tyler, Molly, Avery, Andre Jr., Brianna, Jacob, Matthew, and Michael. Dear sister of Nancy Supplee (the late John), Thomas Vale, the late Ruth Palen (Robert),and the late Linda Vale. Dee was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. 

Dee was one of the biggest Philadelphia Phillies fans and rarely missed a game. Her favorite player was Zack Wheeler, whom she proudly cheered for every season. In her spare time, Dee loved dog sitting, visiting Hershey Park, and enjoying her favorite puzzles. Above all else, Dee treasured being a Grandmom and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the happiness she brought to everyone around her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Christ the King Church, followed by her Funeral Mass. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
