IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis T.
Daly
February 22, 1952 – December 22, 2023
Dennis, a proud first generation Irishman and lifelong Philadelphian lived a big, full life. He was a devoted husband for 50 years to the love of his life, Susan. He was a loving father to Erin and Brendan and warmly welcomed Michael and Jacqueline to his family. He loved being Poppy to Sadie (13), Bash (11) and Capri (1). His greatest accomplishment and source of pride was his family.
He worked countless hours in manufacturing to provide a wonderful life for his family. He made friends wherever he worked and saw success in his first career before moving on to work for the First Judicial District of Philadelphia. He served the city courts before retiring and spending his days with his family, friends and sports.
Dennis was a die-hard sports fan. He was a committed Eagles and Phillies fan through all of the ups and downs of Super Bowls and World Series wins and losses. He loved Premier League soccer and watched games around the clock. Many of his friends called him "Stats" because of his uncanny ability to recall games, plays and scores. He was a soccer coach at St. Charles Borromeo and later Father Judge. He was a referee for PIAA and a time-keeper for Division III College Football. He spent countless hours on the field enjoying games for the love of sports and teamwork.
Dennis was a Democratic Committeeman registering votes and working the polls. He loved meeting people, volunteering his time and doing what he could to make Philadelphia better.
Dennis was proud of his Irish heritage and loved being the youngest of eight growing up in Tacony. His parents, Catherine and John, emigrated from Ireland to start a new life in Philadelphia. He was doted on by his seven brothers and sisters, Michael, Kate, Kevin, Seamus, Eugene, Eamon, and Eileen. He took several trips to see his family home and his love for Ireland was enduring.
Dennis, Dad, Poppy - to know him was to love him. He loved life, his family, his friends, a good game and a party. He will be forever in our hearts as we continue his legacy.
