Dorothy Virginia Kelley, (nee Antoniale), of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully at her home, on February 13, 2026, at the age of 92. Dorothy was born on August 22, 1933, treasured daughter of Tomasso Antoniale and Maria Antoniale. She was the youngest of 4 girls, pre-ceded in death by her beloved sisters, Pierena Bright, Mary Gazzara and Frances Antoniale.
Dorothy was a graduate of Southern High School, Philadelphia, Class of 1951. As a young woman, she worked at General Accident in Philadelphia. In 1951, Dorothy married Floyd Benjamin Kelley of Rome, Georgia, (1919-1998) and had three children. She is survived by daughter, Carol (Thomas) McCarthy, and sons Floyd, Jr. and Daniel (Lauren), and her three precious granddaughters, Katherine (Joey Zlotek) Gamble, Sara Anne Kelley, and Alyssa Diana Kelley.
Dorothy returned to the workforce after raising her children, first employed part-time by Strawbridge & Clothier, and soon after, at PSFS Bank. Dorothy would go on to work full-time, enjoying a long career in banking, eventually retiring from then, Mellon Bank.
After her retirement, she was active in various senior groups: the Primrose Club at St. Katherine’s and Young at Heart at All Saints Episcopal Church.
Dorothy was known for her love of dogs - her family pets, and her ‘grand-pets’. All brought her much joy through life. Dorothy contributed regularly to the ASPCA and animal charities.
She was an avid reader and traded books with her sister, Mary. She enjoyed decorating, creating a beautiful home and tending to her small garden. She was also a Phillies and Eagles fan.
Dorothy will be remembered for her devotion to family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to your local animal shelter.
