Dorothy A. Rooney, DMD,  passed away peacefully at her home with her husband by her side, October 23,2022. Beloved wife of Allan Shannon. Loving daughter of William and Dorothy (nee Moore) Rooney. Dear stepmother of Jessica. Devoted sister to Mary Anne Rooney, Kevin Rooney (Elisa), Patricia Hartman (John), Bill Rooney (Cathy), John Rooney (Joanne), Karen Rainey (Mark), Teresa Kennedy (John), and Betty Ann Wetzler (Frank). She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Dorothy was a graduate of St. Katherine of Siena School, Archbishop Ryan, Lakenau Hospital School of Nursing, Southampton College at the University of  Long Island, Tufts University School of Dentistry. Dorothy had a Family Dental Practice at Grant Ave. and Academy Rd. for over 25 years. She was a talented artist, and photographer who loved to travel and play golf.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday Eve 6:00-8:00 PM at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114 and Friday to her Funeral Mass 10:00 AM  St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Asplundh Cancer Pavilion, 3941 Commerce Ave. Willow Grove, PA 19090 would be appreciated.
