Douglas William, known to most as Dougie, age 46, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 surrounded by his family. Doug was born January 13, 1972 in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Patricia and Douglas. He was a graduate of Mercy Technical High School and married Alison Leight on April 27, 2002 in Philadelphia PA. Doug worked for the Operating Engineers Union Local 542. He loved his family, trips to the mountains, hunting, hanging out around the fire, watching his two sons play hockey, and being around his friends and family watching sports. Doug was funny, caring, loyal and had a huge heart. He is survived by his wife Alison; sons Jonathan and Ryan; daughter Courtney; nephews Colin and Michael; niece and goddaughter Kayla; brother and sister in law Colin and Lauren Leight; brother and sister in law Lauren and Brian Linden; and many cousins.  Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Wednesday evening, 7-9 P.M. and Thursday morning, 8:30-9:30 A.M. at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave., Phila., PA 19114.  Funeral Mass 10 A.M. St. Katherine of Siena Church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Alison Leight for the education fund of his three children.
