We are sad to announce the death of Dulcemaria Castellon (formerly McAnany), of Philadelphia, PA, who passed away on April 18, 2020 at the age of 69.

Born in Managua, Nicaragua, Dulce was a Spanish teacher and a lifelong learner. She earned a full wall of diplomas from multiple universities and visited countries all over the world. She also made an impact on the lives of countless children over the course of many years as a dedicated educator at Jones Junior High School, Olney High School, and Northeast High School in the Philadelphia school district. She was a loving grandmother who enjoyed flea markets and gardening and she had a thriving plant collection in every room.

She was predeceased by her sister, Delfina Maritza, and is survived by her husband Edward Manzano, Sr, her daughters Marielena and Melissa McAnany, adored grandson James Coyle, brother Sergio, niece Carolina, and others, including beloved family in Nicaragua.

Dulcemaria was a beautiful person who was dearly loved and will be missed terribly.
