Edward M. Kovacs

Edward M. Kovacs passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Carol (nee Gushue) and the beloved son of Mary Jane (nee McGeehan) and the late Edward P. Loving father of Edward D. (Megan), Michael Q. (Megan), and Sean (Carly). Dear Pop of Beau and Christian. Brother of David, Gregory, James, Joseph, and Mary Jane Valentino.

Ed was a retired postal employee, proudly completing 40 years of dedicated service. A talented and accomplished football player, Ed played at the high school, college, and semi-professional levels. He also enjoyed coaching many different sports and sharing his love of athletics with others. Edward was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ed was an avid golfer and a true outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, and carpentry. He was also a beloved member of the Wake Up James Tour, where he formed many special friendships and shared countless memorable experiences.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:00–11:45 AM at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114, followed by his Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private.
