April 7, 1940 – March 22, 2025
Eileen M. Cantz (nee Pierce) passed away peacefully on March 22,2025. She was 16 days away from her 85th birthday.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years by only 6 weeks. Together they built a beautiful life full of love and cherished memories. She was the proud mother to Edward Cantz (Barbara) and Christoher Cantz (Jessica) and a loving Mom-Mom to Bryan, Kevin, Justin, Christopher and Ryan. She was very blessed with five great-grandchildren Christopher, Greyson, Meadow, Jaxxon and Roman. She was the loving sister to Joseph Pierce (Betty) and the late Joan Waltrich (Tony) and Kevin Pierce. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Marie.
She was a graduate of St. Michael's Grade School and John Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School Class of 1958 where she was frequently on the honor roll. After graduating she worked many years at Quaker Moving & Storage in Customer Service.
Over the years Eileen developed a love of writing poems. She collected them in a spiral notebook that the family will cherish forever. She wrote them about many people in her life, as well as a way to express her feelings.
Everyone who knew Eileen would describe her as a kind gentle woman. She was very generous and loving too. When her parents died young, she took on the role of mother to her youngest brother bringing him into her home.
Her life was full of energy and adventure. She loved to travel with her family and friends. She especially loved the planning of trips. She took great pride in her Irish roots and was so happy to be able to visit Ireland as one of her many trips.
