Emi Emelia Marinelli, 89, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2023. She was born in New York City on August 10, 1933 and was a first generation Italian-American. Emelia was a natural cook and learned from her father and then taught her son. She had the best meatballs and we believe her favorite vegetable was broccoli as she made it with most meals. She had a love for reading and an extensive book collection. Her love for reading meant she had the best stories to tell and wouldn't miss a part. Emelia was a great listener, caring and warm. She had the best smile and stayed strong for all those around her. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Arnold Marinelli of 46 years. They loved to travel and host the best family parties. She is also proceeded in death by her son, Joseph Marinelli, who she shared her love of cooking and football. She is survived by her daughter, Dina Marinelli-Gilchrist (Kyle), nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will miss her presence but know she is free from pain and with her loved ones who have passed before her.
