Eric "Irv" D.
Battaglia
Aug 28, 1984 — Aug 16, 2026
Roebling, NJ
Eric D. “Irv” Battaglia, age 41, suddenly passed away on August 16, 2026. Beloved son of Leon and Cindi (née Lukens) Battaglia. Loving brother of Ed (Sara), Leon (Jacqueline), and Bryan. Cherished uncle of Jack E., Kace R., Kaylee, and Brooke. Dear nephew of Jackie S., Joanne H., Maryellen L., Theresa L., and Kristine C. Irv is also survived by his loving significant other of 11 years, Lindsey Lovenduski, along with many extended family members and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
Irv was a proud graduate of Holy Cross High School, Class of 2003. During his years at Holy Cross, he was part of the school’s 2001 State Championship Football team—an accomplishment he was extremely proud of and one he never let his brothers forget. Irv was always quick to remind them, with a smile, that he was the only State Champion in the family.
Following high school, Irv became a proud union Ironworker with Local 68. He took great pride in his work and in being part of the brotherhood of the trade. Irv was a hardworking and loyal man who valued the friendships he made along the way.
For Irv, some of the best times were often the simplest ones. He looked forward to Sunday gravy at his parents’ house, where being surrounded by family meant more to him than anything. Family was always an important part of Irv’s life, and he especially cherished being “Uncle Eric.” His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart, and he loved spending as much time with them as he could. Some of their favorite memories will always be piling into Uncle Eric’s Jeep, doors off, and heading out for a ride. To them, a ride with Uncle Eric wasn’t just a ride—it was an adventure.
Irv had a way of making memories out of ordinary moments. Whether he was giving his brothers a hard time, spending time with Lindsey, enjoying Sunday dinner with his family, riding in his Jeep, or simply being surrounded by the people he loved, Irv was happiest in the company of those closest to him. He was a loyal friend, a devoted son and brother, a loving partner, and an uncle who was truly adored.
Those who knew Irv will remember his personality, his sense of humor, his loyalty, and the unmistakable way he could make his presence known. At only 41 years old, Irv leaves far too soon, but the stories, laughter, friendships, and memories he created throughout his life will continue to be shared by everyone fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Irv’s Funeral Mass on Monday, August 24, 2026, at St. Paul’s Church, 223 E. Union Street, Burlington, NJ 08016, at 10:30 A.M. Guests are kindly asked to arrive promptly by 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irv’s memory to the St. Paul’s Church General Fund, 223 E. Union Street, Burlington, NJ 08016.
