Ernestine May Hojnowski (nee Franks) passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Hojnowski, and a devoted mother to Justine Hojnowski and Kristine Davis (Dennis). Ernestine was a cherished grandmother to Ashley (Rick), Shana (Matt), and Christopher (Lindsey), and a proud great-grandmother to Abigail, Emerson, and Charles.

She was a loving sister to Carolyn Litwinow (the late Eugene), Dennis Franks (Sandy), Georgette Reichart (Joseph), George Franks, the late Charles Franks (Mickey), and the late James Franks. Ernestine was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends, all of whom she held dear.

A family woman through and through, Ernestine was one of seven siblings and always took great pride in caring for her family. Her nurturing spirit extended far and wide, whether she was making her famous potato salad (which was often referred to as "the best in the world") or scouring for a 2-for-1 Fudge deal in Wildwood. She had a love for reading, a passion for her English TV shows, and a joyous heart that loved to dance. Ernestine had a unique ability to worry about everyone else before herself, always putting others' needs ahead of her own.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Burns Funeral Home (1428 E. Columbia Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19125) From 9:00AM-10:45AM, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Interment New Cathedral Cemetery.
