Francis J. "Fran", peacefully on September 13, 2015, at the age of 87. Fran was a veteran serving honorably in the United States Navy in WW II. Upon his return to his home in the Fishtown neighborhood he graduated from Northeast Catholic High School and later achieved an associates degree in criminal justice from St. Joseph College. Beloved husband of 45 years to H. Marion (nee Walker), devoted father of Timothy P., Kathryn T. (Mike) Garwood, Geralyn Conicella, Clare A. Clemens, and the late Francis J., loving grandpop to Owen and Lily. Dear brother of Mary Malloy and the late Joseph M., Mildred Franzen, William J., Miles E. "Doll", Susan T. Minarik, Michael J., Thomas J., Raymond F. and Bernard J; loyal and dedicated brother in law to Marie Lederer, Rita Lederer, Eileen Lederer, and dozens of lovable nieces and nephews and friends from every part of life.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Monday Evening 6 to 9 PM and also Tuesday 8:30 to 9:30 AM, Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., followed by his Funeral Mass 10 AM, St. Katherine of Siena Church. Interment is Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Police Athletic League, 750 Race Street, Phila., PA 19106, in his memory would be appreciated.
