Frank Cann Jr., a resident of Warrington, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 82 years old.
Born in McAdoo, PA, he was the son of the late Frank Cann Sr. and Susan Scholler Cann and the brother of the late George Cann.
Frank was a 1947 graduate of Hazleton High School and was stationed in Germany with the US Army during the Korean War.
Frank moved to Fairless Hills in 1953 and worked for over 30 years at US Steel, including various roles with the United Steelworkers Union, Local #4889.
Frank enjoyed travel and was an avid golfer. He will also be remembered as a great animal lover and will be missed by his loyal pup "Mickey."
Frank is survived by his beloved companion of 22 years, Carole Shaffer, as well as his sisters and brothers: Esther (Thomas) Rock of Hazleton, PA; Fred (Sylvia) Cann Sr of McAdoo, PA; Mary Demshick of McAdoo, PA; Margaret (Bill) Hawley of Fairless Hills, PA; Eunice (Walt) Muhlbauer of Bensalem, PA; Thomas Cann of Palm City, FL; and Sally Cann of Levittown, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews by whom he was greatly loved.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass at 9:30am on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
