Past away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. A lifelong resident of Fishtown. Beloved husband of 40 years to Minnie (nee Sindone) Loving father of Kelly Mentzer (Mike), Gretna Shay, Janet Szumowski (David), Mary Shay, Lena Shuster (Rodney) and the late Sara. Pop Pop to Corbin, Dylan, Sara,and Shaylee. Dear brother of Patty, Joyce, and Flossi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday evening 6-9 PM at the Burns Funeral Home, 1428 East Columbia Ave. Phila. PA 19125 and Friday 9:00 to 9:45 AM followed by his funeral service at 10:00 AM. Interment is Sunset Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place  Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
