Gary L. Dawson, Sr., passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (née Margerum), and the devoted father of Michael Dawson, Matthew Dawson, Kaitlin Dawson, and the late Gary L. Dawson, Jr. He was a cherished Pop Pop to his granddaughter, Sophia. Dear brother of the late William Thompson, the late James Thompson, the late Joseph Dawson (the late Joanne), and the late Thomas Dawson. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A lifelong resident of the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, Gary was the proud owner of Locksmith on Wheels for over 40 years. He took great pride in his work and especially loved having his children by his side in the family business. Known for his generous spirit, Gary never hesitated to lend a hand—anytime a neighbor needed help, he would drop everything to be there. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, followed by his Service 12:00 PM.
