George A. Stuhl, Sr. 82, passed away very peacefully January 4, 2022, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of 60 years to Theresa (nee Pawlowski). Devoted father to Mary Jane McGeehan (Bill), George Stuhl, Jr. (Angel DelVecchio), and Christopher Stuhl. His pride and joy were his five grandchildren Billy, Ashley (Clayton Evans), Angelise, Dominick and Sydney, who he adored, and they lovingly called him Pop Pop. Dear brother of Marie Hackimer (the late Len), Florence Guarini (George), Regina Pawlowski (the late Edmund), Marge Gursky (Thomas), Gerardine Narcisi, and the late Edward, Joseph, Francis, James, and Rita Sieracki; survived by many nieces and nephews. George had a close relationship with his sister- in-law, Bernadette and brother-in-law Jim. He will also be sadly missed by his loving extended family and friends.
George was born on October 23,1939 to Lillian (nee Scherpf) and Joseph Stuhl. He grew up at 2nd and Diamond Streets in Philadelphia and was a devout Catholic attending St. Boniface Grade School and Roman Catholic High School.
George was a hardworking man all his life especially in the logistics industry passing that passion and dedication on to his two sons. A die-hard Philadelphia sports fan, he was an avid fast pitch softball player and played into his 40's. George loved to paint and used his talents in retirement painting homes at the Jersey Shore. He fulfilled his goal of retiring in Wildwood, NJ. Aside from painting down at the shore, he loved working as the mini golf attendant at Hassles Ice Cream. He loved the animal characters that grace Hassles' greens so much that he helped paint them too.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather Monday, January 17, 2022, 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM, St. Dominic Church, 8504 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
