August 18, 1930 – September 18, 2025
Gil was raised in the Tacony section of Phila with his 4 brothers and 7 sisters. They were close and fun loving siblings.
Gil proudly served in the United States Army. He received his infantry training at Fort Knox and earned his "Marksman" badge for proficiency in M1, carbine, Browning Automatic rifles and machine guns. He was later deployed to Germany and Italy defense bases for a special mission. Gil was extremely proud to be a Veteran.
Gil spent over 20 years working as a plumber with the Philadelphia School Board while also maintaining his own plumbing business. At times he held 3 jobs at one time to meet his family's needs. He especially loved working with his brothers and in-laws improving and renovating their family homes. Spending time with his brothers, sisters and their spouses gave him great joy: Emma, Rose, Louise, Doris, Helen, Dora, Martha, Caroline, Gilberto, Louise, Joe, Eugene
Gil found inspiration and comfort in his faith in God. He lived every day for his wife, sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He prayed for everyone he knew. He was an honest, hardworking and loving man that only improved with age.
Gil is survived by his loving wife Geri (nee Rossi/Suez), his two sons Gilbert Jr. (Maria Ciotti). and Gregory (Melody), his five grandchildren Andrea, Gianna, Maxime, Joseph, and Jacky, and his two great grandchildren Evelyn and Jocelyn.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family Tuesday morning, September 23, 2025, from 10:00 - 11:15 A.M. at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114. Funeral Service 11:30 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gil's memory to Disabled American Veterans , would be appreciated by his family.
