Gloria G. McQuaid (nee McVey), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at the age of 93.

She was the cherished wife of the late John McQuaid and the loving mother of Dawn Smith (Jim). Gloria was a devoted grandmother, affectionately known as "Gam", to Ashley Brown (Harry), Brittany Cantagallo (Vincent), and Courtney Gasperini (Cole), and a proud great-grandmother to Brooke, Caydence, Briella, Breslynn, Vincenzo, Nova, Maverick, Bailey, and Cove. She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Gladys McVey and also the dear sister of the late Bernard McVey.

Born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, she had wonderful memories of her childhood and then moved to her forever home in Northeast Philadelphia. She worked for General Electric until she became a mother, then chose to stay home to raise her only daughter. Gloria later returned to work as a secretary for Professional Home Health Services, The Home Health Program for the three campuses of Aria/Jefferson Hospital, where she spent many years and forged lasting friendships. Gloria was known for her love of family and animals, and she found joy in spending time with her loved ones. Always a smile on her face, to know her was to love her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Gloria's viewing on Monday, February 24, 2025, at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Rd., Philadelphia, PA, beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
