On Monday, April 8, 2013, God called Gloria Elaine Wells (Wendling) of Philadelphia to heaven. Also preceding her in death is her husband, Leroy "Tex" Wells, parents, Kenneth & Lillian Wendling and brother Bud Wendling. She leaves her loving and devoted son, Charles. She is also survived by her daughter, Mimi and faithful companion "Mr. Beaux Jangles". Gloria was born on April 29, 1925 in California and was raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Marywood College, Gloria was fluent in Spanish, French and German languages. She worked for the International Schools of Latin America and later was staff to Robert Lincoln McNeil of McNeil Labs. When the firm moved to Ft. Washington, PA, Gloria stayed in Philadelphia and worked with the International Speakers Bureau of Smith, Kline & French Laboratories. Later in life, Gloria would work for the National Defense Agency in Philadelphia until her retirement. She was married to Stephen F. Herran and had two children. After his death in 1992 she married Leroy "Tex" Wells. Gloria spent many happy years with Tex and chose to live alone after his passing in 2008. Her son kept watch over her until her most recent illness. Gloria's faith in God and love of her family, friends and dear Mr. Beaux Jangles provided much joy and happiness in her life. She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother and friend.
