Died Monday Dec. 15, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany NY, with family members present. Beloved husband of Theresa (Eiding) Tyas for the past 52 years, with whom he was truly in love. Loving father of Kevin (JoAnn) Tyas, Karen (Robert) Pabst, Michelle (Andrew) Poulin and the late Kenneth Tyas; also survived by his daughter-in-law, Jeannette Tyas; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, his sister, Nell Levinson, his brother, Frank (Kay) Tyas, the late Samuel Tyas, 2 brothers-in-law, Patrick and Robert Eiding, sister-in-law, Joan and several nieces and nephews. Born in Phila, Gordon was a graduate of Northeast High School and was an Army Veteran during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Germany. A Lineman for Bell Atlantic, he retired after 33 years of service in 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fixing things around the house and riding his motorcycle - "the trip across the country" told so many times to friends and loved ones.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday, 11 A.M., at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. (So. of Grant Ave.), followed by his Memorial Service 12:30 P.M.
