Has returned to the angels and her husband Joe is due to her colon and liver cancer on Nov. 14, 2011, at the age of 76. She was well cared for at the end at home by her family and Holy Redeemer Hospice. She was a mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend and survived by her five children: Laura Godfrey Amoroso (Lou), James P. Godfrey (Linda) and his two children Jim and Katie, Rick Godfrey in Cleveland, TX, Renae Godfrey Grzeszczak (Steve) and her four children Brittany, Danielle, Steven, and Andrew, and Joe Mellor (Lee Ann) and his baby girl Morgan. Her sister Anna May and husband Rocky were close friends and there in the end to help and witness. Helen was raied in Phila., the oldest of her three sisters, Joan who is in heaven watching Josephine and Anna May. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Saturday 9AM Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., followed by her service of Christian Burial 11AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
