Herbert "George" Ruf, age 89, of Philadelphia passed away December 18, 2021 peacefully at his home. Loving husband of the late Joan (née LaMont). Beloved Dad to William Hammer (Melody), Barbara Stokley (the late Keith), David Ruf, Paul Ruf (Annette) and the late George Ruf. Pop-Pop to Christina McCombe (Tim). George was retired from Conrail, where he worked for over 30 year. Preceded in death by his long time companion Josephine Midili. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Burns Funeral Home (9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia PA 19114) from 10AM-11AM, followed by his funeral service. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
