Herbert J. Hevener

Herbert J. Hevener passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband of 72 years to the late Norma (nee Hubbard).

Devoted father to Patricia Kilian (the late Paul), Herb Hevener (the late Carol), John Hevener (Helen), Ken Hevener (Sandi), Joe Hevener (Nancy), Mary Cisek (Stephen), and Linda Hevener. He was the loving Grandfather of 20 grandchildren, preceded in death by grandchildren Roxanne and Bryan, 16 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Art, Frank, Ed, and Bob.

Born and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Herb met the love of his life, Norma, and together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and love. A true handyman, Herb could fix just about anything and was known for his strong work ethic and determination. In 1982, Herb founded Pioneer Burial Vault Co., Inc., which he proudly built into a thriving business over the next 44 years. His dedication to his work and the people he served was a reflection of the same commitment he brought to everything he did.

An avid gardener, Herb took great pride in growing the best tomatoes. He also enjoyed fishing, especially when he could spend that time with his family. But above all, Herb was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Burns Funeral Home, 1514 Woodbourne Road, Levittown, PA, followed by his Service 12:15 PM. Interment will be held at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 in Herbert's memory would be appreciated.
