Howard "Pretzel" Shander, of Levittown, Pa. died peacefully on May 26,2023. Howard was born on March 30, 1939 to Jack and Eleanor Shander and grew up in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia. A graduate of Temple University, he worked many years as an auditor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, retiring 5 years ago. Howard enjoyed coin collecting, reading, playing pinochle, watching the History channel and almost any movie and going to Atlantic City, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a truly kind soul who was adored by everyone who knew him.

Howard is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Joan, his three daughters, Suzanne(Steven) Borislow, Barb Shander (Tom McDonald) and Jennifer (Stephen) Hopson. He deeply loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; Jacob, Samuel (Flora), Harry Hannah, Alison, Julia and Sarah. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend, and he will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather Tuesday May 30, 2023 at Burns Funeral Home, 1514 Woodbourne Rd. , Levittown, PA 19057 starting 11 A.M. until the service at 11:30 A.M.. Interment PRIVATE. Shiva will be observed at the home of Joan Shander Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30 P.M..
