IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hugh T.
Mccormack
June 9, 1948 – April 16, 2025
Hugh T. McCormack passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband to Patricia (née McVeigh), devoted father to Brian (Jill), Christina, and Meghan, and cherished "Poppy" to his granddaughter Brenna. Hugh's heart was big, and his love for his family knew no bounds.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, Hugh served with honor and distinction in the 101st Airborne Division — the Screaming Eagles. His service was a source of deep pride, and his courage and dedication remained a cornerstone of who he was throughout his life.
Hugh's generosity extended far beyond his family. He was an avid and longtime volunteer with the American Cancer Society Bike-A-Thon, a cause that held special meaning for him. He was a familiar and friendly face to neighbors and their pups alike, always quick to offer a warm smile — and a treat — to any dog passing by. His beloved Molly was never far from his side.
Whether driving his Jeep Wrangler with the top down or simply sitting by the ocean, Hugh found peace at the beach. It was his happy place — full of sunshine, salty air, and the freedom he treasured.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Burns Funeral Home (1428 E. Columbia Ave., Philadelphia PA 19125) from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Friday morning from 9:00AM to 10:30AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church (1445 N 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19122) at 11:00AM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hugh's memory may be made to the
American Cancer Society
or to a veterans' organization of your choice.
Hugh lived fully, loved deeply, and gave generously. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
