Loving husband of Dolores (nee Little) for 45 years. Beloved father of James, IV (Megan) and Allison Varano (Samuel). Proud Pop-Pop of Stella and Sophia. Faithful Brother of Barbara Brisar (Frank), Bonnie Clark (Jim), Richard (Sandie) and the late Elizabeth Small. Dutiful Son in Law to the late Robert and Dolores Little and Brother in Law to Kathleen Padova (Donald), Margaret Crump (Jerry), Teresa Pendergast (John), Robert and John Little. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Philadelphia to James, Jr. and Elizabeth Gilbert (nee Harron), Jim was a 1966 graduate of Father Judge High School and a U.S. Navy Seabees Vietnam Veteran. Over a 32-year career at Asplundh Tree Expert Co. and Forestry Equipment of Virginia, Jim was a mechanic, foreman, and inspector eventually serving as Assistant Plant Manager until his retirement in 2005.

Jim was the most selfless husband, dad and Pop Pop, whose greatest happiness came from seeing his family happy. He will forever be remembered for his unwavering generosity and unconditional love. We will miss him immensely, but his spirit will live forever in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, May 16 ^th from 10-10:45 AM at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19114 followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Interment following at Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in his memory to the Vietnam Veterans of America.
