James G. Matthews, III, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, at the age of 66.  James was the cherished husband of Theresa Matthews (nee Kenny) and a devoted father to Tori Matthews and her fiance' Christopher Babst.

Loving son of Lucy Matthews and the late James G. Matthews, Jr., he was a beloved brother to Donna McGeehan (John), Lisa Zeitz (Lance), and Barbara Carberry (Daniel).  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.  James will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his loving in-laws the Kenny Family and his loving cat Oliver.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday, September 5, 2024, 9:15 AM to 10:45 AM St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM.  Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Monastery of St. Clare, 1271 Langhorne Newtown Rd. Langhorne, PA 19057 or St. Christopher Church Building Fund, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116 in James' memory would be appreciated.
