Obituary

James S. Nocco, age 81, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Jim was a dedicated Captain with the Philadelphia Police Department, where he served the city with courage and distinction for many years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a man of strength and honor, but above all, he was a loving and devoted family man.

Jim was the beloved husband of Linda (nee Rago), with whom he shared a lifetime of love and laughter. He was the cherished father of Rita Marie Tobin (Christopher), Jay Nocco (Kenyon Kilber), and Christopher Nocco (Bridget), and the adored "Pop-Pop" of Michael, Matthew, Nicholas, Alex, Xavier, and Gabriella. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Jim was also a dear brother-in law, uncle, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate James's life and legacy at a Viewing on Saturday, January 18, 2025 , from 10:00-10:45 A.M. at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M.

Jim touched the lives of many with his engaging stories. He had a tremendous sense of humor and loved to laugh. To honor his legacy, the family is collecting antidotes and memories to create a keepsake book. Please email your favorite stories of Jim to: jaynocco@gmail.com
