James R. Perkins

James R. Perkins, “Bob," passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and later made his home in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania.

He was the beloved husband of the late Joanne (nee Annos); devoted father of Michael Perkins and Kathy Peters (Dan); loving Pop Pop of Sande Napoleon (Jim) and Robyn McCutchen (Rob) and proud great pop pop of Nathanyl, Nouvelle, Harlow, and Harper. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his brother Sam.

A proud Army veteran, James was a dedicated employee of SEPTA, where he retired after 30 years of service. He loved spending time with his family, being in the mountains and eating ice cream. He had a generous heart and could always be counted on to help others.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue Philadelphia, PA, his service will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery.
