James J. Reid of Bensalem, Pennsylvania passed away on December 24, 2023 after a 6 month battle with cancer.  James was 80 years old.  James is survived by his wife of 55 years Evelyn (Malec) Reid; two sons - Steve Reid and Scott Reid; four grandchildren - Cassandra (Lorio-Adelman) Tepper, Steven Reid, Victoria Reid and Liam Reid; two great-granddaughters - Addison Reid and Zoey Tepper.

James was born and grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from Mercy Technical Institution in June of 1962.  He enlisted in the US Army in October of 1962.  He was stationed in Korea from 1963 to 1964 and received an honorable discharge in August of 1968.  James and Evelyn were married in November of 1968.  They lived in the Parkwood section of Philadelphia for 33 years raising their children who attended St. Anselm's School and Archbishop Ryan High School.  James and Evelyn then moved to Bensalem where they currently reside.  James retired in 2002 after working for 33 years as a drywall finisher for Local 1955, District Council No. 21.  James liked to fish and bowl in his younger days and enjoyed playing poker on his iPad as he got older.  James will be missed by his family, friend and neighbors.  He is at peace now, pain free and in God's hands.  Rest in peace.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the BURNS FUNERALHOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA. 19114, Thursday, January 11, 2024, 10:30AM-12:15PM, followed by his interment, Washington Crossing National Cem, 1:30PM.
