Joan Patricia Barron (nee Mansfield) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 4, 2023. Loving mom to Joseph (Janelin), Michael (Jan), Kevin (Lisa) and Joanie Polidoro (John). Beloved Grandmom to Michael (Melissa), John, Kylie (Craig), Danielle (Bobby), Kevin, Johnny, Kaitlyn, Gabriella, Nicholas, Erin, Victoria, Robert, and Joey, as well as Great-Grandmom to Brooklyn, Jude, Xander and Genevieve. Dear sister to Cass Sweeney (Dennis), James Mansfield (Mary Theresa), Maryalice Mansfield, Maureen Roddy (the late Mike) and the late Martin Mansfield (the late Claire). Joan is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joan enjoyed many years as the Deli/Bakery Manager at Superfresh Supermarket (Morrell Ave) before moving on to Frankford Torresdale Hospital followed by Nazareth Hospital as a Unit Clerk until retiring at the age of 73. She ran a tight ship and was referred to as the "Captain" by many of the nurses. Joan's greatest love was her family. She faithfully attended many events over the years of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State football, as well as tearing up the dance floor at family weddings. Joan loved the Jersey Shore, Walt Disney World and could be found many summer days floating around in the pool enjoying the Sun. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Burns Funeral Home (9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia PA 19114) from 6:00PM-8:00PM and Tuesday morning at St. Ephrem's Catholic Church (5400 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020) from 9:30AM-11:00AM followed by her Funeral Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Joan's name can be made to the American Lung Association .
