Joan M. Ewing (nee McGovern) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 6, 2023 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Vincent Ewing. Loving mother of James Ewing (Pamela), Peggy Monahan (Mark), Anita Riches (John), Mary Wark (Jim), and the late Thomas; mother-in-law of Clare Ewing. Dear Mom Mom of 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Joan was one of 14 children; she is survived by her brother Jack McGovern and predeceased by her 12 siblings. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren and also her beloved cats. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday November 11, 2023 at St. Jerome Church, 8100 Colfax St. Phila., PA from 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market St. Phila., PA 19103 would be appreciated.
