Johanna P. McGarvey (born to Andrew and Dorothy Quinn), passed away from a short battle with cancer.  Beloved mother to Frank, Jr. (Babe), Jim (Reenie), Andy (Betsy) and Joe (Pam); grandmother to Mike (Caitlin), Kevin (Kristen), Ryan (Gina), Matthew, Molly (Nick), Jeffrey, Aidan and Anne; and great grandmother to Finleigh, Rowan, Annie, Sean, Patrick, Grace and Lily.  Johanna was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Francis McGarvey, Sr.; her brothers Stephen (Carol) and Michael (Christine).  She is survived by her brother Andrew (Helenann).

Johanna was eighty-four years old and graduated from Little Flower High School. Professionally, Johanna was a bookkeeper for numerous small businesses in NE Philadelphia. As a member of the Greatest Generation, Johanna's true passion was her dedication and nurturing support to her family, friends and neighbors. Johanna, alongside her husband Francis, Sr. "Mac", took great pride in raising their four boys in the Holmesburg / Mayfair area of Philadelphia. She cherished her many loving relationships with her neighbors, cousins, nephews and nieces as well as her many friendships at the Gardens Plaza in Ocean City, NJ. In addition to being an avid Philadelphia sports fan, Johanna enjoyed reality TV shows with her granddaughters and daughters in law.  She also enjoyed Ocean City sunsets, cooking and the sharing of food, especially German meals with friends and family,bowling, bingo and all games of chance, particularly the daily lottery games.

A visitation and celebration of her life will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 from 10:30 A.M. - 12:15 P.M. at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave., Phila., PA 19114.  Funeral Service to follow at 12:30 P.M.  Interment will be private at a later date.
