John P.
Cambas
April 21, 1942 – December 28, 2022
John P. Cambas, Jr., age 80 of Bensalem, PA, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2022 at his home. John was a graduate of Rider University in Lawrence Township, NJ. After graduation, he took a teaching position in Willingboro NJ and met Rosalind M. Gennaro to whom he was wed and had three daughters: Christie, Jennifer and Laura. Rosalind and John settled down in Hazleton, PA and were married for 23 years. John started an insurance agency, Quest Financial Services, where he provided insurance and financial planning advice. Later in life, John moved back to Philadelphia and reunited with Genny Coco who became his beloved companion for the remainder of his life.
John leaves behind Genny Coco, 3 daughters and sons-in-law, as well as, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: Christie and Michael Corado and grandchildren, Niko, Michael, Christian, Victoria and Joey; Jennifer and David McCahan and grandchildren, David (and Ashley) and Cody (and Camille), Taylor and Jordon; Laura and Rolando Vega and granddaughter Alexandria; great-grandchildren include Emme and Maddi McCahan and Aaron, Shyne and Masyn McCahan.
John was predeceased by his ex-wife, Rosalind Gennaro of Hazleton PA, and his parents, Anthe and John Cambas of Philadelphia, PA. He was an only child but had many dear cousins that he loved like siblings.
John attracted many friends along life's journey, some lifelong and some who started as clients. He was known as a fun-loving, caring and optimistic person. John's style was one-of-a-kind, he was known to wear hats, bow ties, suspenders and was often chewing on an unlit cigar or cigarette. His smile was contagious. He was a spiritual man who loved God and had great pride in his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather Monday, January 2, 2023, 11:00 AM Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, followed by his Memorial Service 12:00 PM. Burial of his ashes will be delayed until Summer 2023 (after a trip to the New Jersey shore).
